Car veers off road into ditch

10.30am: Fire crews were called to the scene of an accident near Barnack in the early hours of today after a car went into a ditch.
Firefighters and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe and a crew from Stamford were called to the road out of Barnack, near Stamford, heading towards Uffington after reports of a smoking car.

When they arrived, shortly after 1am this morning, they found a car had veered into a ditch, but was not alight.

The driver had escaped and crews worked to make the vehicle safe.
