8 February 2008: Darts legend Martin Adams has described scooping the prestigious Sports Personality of the Year accolade at last night's Evening Telegraph Sports Awards as a 'tremendous honour'.

• Sports Personality of the Year: Martin Adams (darts).
• Sportsman of the Year: Brent Gough (ice hockey).
• Sportswoman of the Year: Carly Smith (pool).
• Team of the Year: Peterborough Phantoms (ice hockey).
• Footballer of the Year: Aaron Mclean (Posh).
• Junior Footballer of the Year: Prentice Speechley (Nene Valley Lions).
• Junior Sportsman of the Year: James Fox (rowing).
• Junior Sportswoman of the Year: Kim Lane (ice hockey/football).
• Unsung Hero: Ian Offers (ice hockey).
• Coach/Manager of the Year: Doug McEwen (ice hockey).
• Special Award: Eli Frankham (boxer).
