Victory over Ipswich convinces Frost not to make changes

A polished Peterborough Panthers performance has convinced owner Rick Frost there is no need for change.

A polished Peterborough Panthers performance has convinced owner Rick Frost there is no need for change.Frost had revealed the club were considering drafting in new blood, but that is no longer the case following a comprehensive 54-42 success over new-look Ipswich last night.

The victory cemented the city side's third position in the Elite League standings. It left them on course to reach the play-offs at the end of the season and left Frost impressed.

He said: "I think one or two of the riders were in need of a wake-up call and they have definitely received it. It looked to me as though some people were too comfortable and not riding to their full ability.

"Too often we have lacked the consistency this season, but all seven riders contributed well against Ipswich when the commitment was clear to see.

"I am much happier now – it looks like my Panthers have their claws out again. If the riders can continue to ride as well as they have done in the past couple of meetings, we will remain happy because everyone can see we do have a good team out there.

"The challenge now for the guys is to perform at this level in every one of our remaining meetings."

Panthers now face a two-week break from action. They return at Poole on July 22 and then host Wolverhampton the following night.

Monday night's results:

Panthers 54, Ipswich 42; Belle Vue 40, Swindon 50; Wolverhampton 50, Eastbourne 42.
