Now the US TV stations have given up on him surely Tigers Woods should retire?

It irritated me that we were forced to watch every hack, shank, top and mishit from the world’s 170th-best player on his way to a score of 81 in the first round of the US Open. Thankfully we were then spared the agony of seeing any more of the decline of one of the world’s greatest players. He should now bow out gracefully, or disgracefully if he prefers.

I enjoyed the tournament though apart from the whining of the players about a tricked-up course. Chambers Bay should be judged on the excitement it provided and it was a darn sight more entertaining than a normal US tour event. The best player in the world won it as well which is another positive.
