Seb Coe must quit his role as President of the Internantional Athletics Federation.
It’s bad enough he’s still taking Nike money despite an obvious conflict of interests, but now his predecessor, a man he praised for his ‘shrewd stewardship and wise counsel’, has been accused of taking bribes to suppress negative drug tests his position is surely untenable.
I believe Seb Coe when he says he had no clue what Lamine Diack was up to, but that just makes him stupid as he acted as Diack’s deputy for the previous seven years.
I always preferred the more down-to-earth personality of Steve Ovett to Coe’s smug sense of entitlement when they were rival runners. A career in politics has, rather incredibly, made Coe even smarmier.
