Speedway legend Poole back at Alwalton

Speedway legend Poole back at AlwaltonPanthers legend Mick Poole is ready to get back on his bike at the Showground.

The popular Australian star is expected to ride a few farewell laps on the opening night of the new season - the 40th Anniversary Challenge against an International Select featuring top world stars Jason Crump and Nicki Pedersen on Monday, March 15.

Poole will be over here with son Taylor, who pledged his future to Panthers during the winter, and intends to power round Alwalton one last time despite having now broken his thigh four times.

Poole said: "I've not been on a bike since the last accident - but I would love to do a couple of laps, probably for the last time."

Panthers have completed the opposition line-up for their first meeting of the year. Polish World Cup winner Krzysztof Kasprzak of Lakeside Hammers will provide plenty of back-up to the big two.

Panthers doubling-up reserve Klaus Jakobsen and number eight Linus Eklof will also feature for the visitors along with Lasse Bjerre and Matej Kus.
