Speedway: Bjerre blasts to victory in Motala

KENNETH Bjerre remains on course for a second successive GP Challenge triumph.

KENNETH Bjerre remains on course for a second successive GP Challenge triumph. The Danish ace won the big qualifying meeting last year to earn a ticket to the World Championship – and he is back in the final again at Coventry on September 18.

Bjerre dropped only one point – to fellow GP man Grzegorz Walasek – on his way to semi-final success at Motala in Sweden.

Bjerre is also in a good position to qualify automatically for the 2010 series by finishing in the top eight in the overall standings this year.

Panthers team-mate Ales Dryml missed out in the other semi-final in Daugavpils, Latvia. Dryml's elimination had been confirmed long before he managed to win his final ride.

Both Bjerre and Dryml return to the Panthers fold when they host Ipswich tonight.
