Panthers bosses have revived the club’s Thundercats junior team with immediate effect.

It will race in the Midland Development League and take over the fixtures previously assigned to Castleford Kings.

Castleford had been due to race at the East of England Showground and beat defending champions Milton Keynes 20-16 in their only outing to date.

But the Kings chairman Pete Hibberd withdrew them from the league following a suspension imposed by the Speedway Control Bureau.

The Thundercats are due to face Scunthorpe on Sunday as a second-half following Panthers’ clash with Plymouth in the Premier League Cup.

The Thundercats team features Danny Phillips who recently became the first asset of the new Panthers promotion headed by Ged Rathbone.
