Tomas hoping for a thriller in Malilla

Tomas Jonasson is in this weekend's Grand Prix.

Peterborough Panthers man Tomas H. Jonasson has his sights set on another Speedway Grand Prix final.

The Swedish ace lines up in the Scandinavian SGP at Malilla in his homeland tomorrow (September 8).

It is Jonasson’s second wildcard appearance in the World Championship this year and he wants to at least equal his Swedish SGP exploits when finishing fourth in the final.

Jonasson said: “I am going there to try to make another final.

“This is the fourth time I have had a wildcard for an SGP and I have got better each time.

“I think I can have a good night.”

Jonasson was in fine form for Panthers on Thursday (September 6) when helping them to a handsome 57-36 victory over fellow play-off chasers Lakeside in the Elite League.

Jonasson piled up 11+1 points in just his second appearance for the city side.
