Panthers are back in the Anglian Junior League
PANTHERS have signed up for the return of the Anglian Junior League this year.
The competition will see young teams representing Ipswich, King’s Lynn, Lakeside, Mildenhall, Rye House and Panthers do battle.
The Anglian Junior League was first staged in 1978 and proved to be a rich training ground for stars of the future.
It returns with the aim of allowing a bright current crop of up-and-coming riders to make the jump from riding at Training Schools to competing at National League level.
Matches will be raced over a six-heat, four-rider format, with the action following straight after full team meetings at each venue - the exception being Lakeside who will stage their meetings before the main event starts.
Teams will meet each other twice home and away.
Panthers co-promoter Julie Mahoney added: “Rick Frost and I are proud and delighted to be associated with the league. We were keen to be involved in something that encourages and develops young British riders.”
n PANTHERS and King’s Lynn have changed the start times of their Good Friday derby double-header.
The April 6 action will now get underway at the East of England Showground at 2pm before the sides renew rivalries at the Norfolk Arena at 7pm.
