The 26 year-old currently boasts a 10-point average following a fine run of form in the National League and now has the opportunity to test himself in the second tier of the sport.

Peterborough team manager Jason Attwood said: “Tom has unfortunately had to withdraw from both meetings due to illness and we’re very grateful to Luke for stepping in at short notice.

“I’d also like to place on record my thanks to Chris van Straaten and the rest of the Cradley promotion for allowing him to take the bookings.

“Luke is going really well in the National League and we’ll delighted if he can chip in with a point-or-two here and there.”
