Attwood took charge of the city side in early May, but has moved on due to issues with the club’s management structure.

Popular local man Carl Johnson, who quit early in the season but then returned to an assistant team boss role last month, is now back in charge.

In a club statement, promoter Ged Rathbone confirmed: “There is no bad feeling on either side - it is quite simply a case of Jason not being comfortable working within our structure where all members of the management team have an input on team affairs.

“We thank Jason for the work he has done during his spell with the club and wish him all the very best for his future speedway endeavours.

“Jason also hopes that we can go on to win the league and we’ll be doing everything we can to make that happen.”

Attwood’s spell including 14 meetings in all competitions. Panthers won eight of them and lost six.

Panthers sit third in the Premier League standings ahead of a trip to unbeaten leaders Somerset tomorrow night (August 5).
