Signing for Posh is 'a dream come true' for Shaun

FORMER Fisher Athletic player Shaun Batt is convinced he has something different to offer after being handed a one-year deal at Posh.

FORMER Fisher Athletic player Shaun Batt is convinced he has something different to offer after being handed a one-year deal at Posh.Manager Darren Ferguson saw enough of the lightning winger in two trial games to make the decision to bring the 21 year-old on board for the big League One promotion push.

Batt said: "I was really pleased when the gaffer told me I was to be offered a deal - it is a dream come true. Last season I was working part-time coaching in a primary school to make ends meet. Now I can concentrate on life as a professional footballer - it really is a dream come true to come to Posh.

"I went to school with Charlie Lee and know George Boyd from Stevenage and Shane Blackett and Craig Mackail-Smith from Dagenham and Redbridge which is great and it should help me settle here quicker.

"Being at a club like this with all these great players is what is all about and hopefully I can add something to the mix. I have a lot of pace and like to beat my man which hopefully will give the manager an extra option if he needs it.

"But for now I am just delighted to be a Posh player. It is an opportunity I intend not to waste."
