The high-flying Eagles won 26-21 at Northampton Casuals and ended their promotion-winning campaign as runaway Midlands Division Three East (South) champions.

The bonus-point win - secured with tries by Toby Snelling, Nick Bates, Joe Sagoe and Saad Sait and three Craig Tandy conversions - meant Oundle finished 21 points clear of runners-up Stockwood Park.

Oundle also reached the semi-finals of the national RFU Senior Vase competition.

Wisbech just misssed out on a promotion play-off place in Eastern Counties Division One after going down 16-10 at Swaffham. They finished three points behind runners-up Wymondham with Ely taking the title.

Borough seconds were well beaten 53-17 away to a strong Towcestrians second team in their final fixture.

Skipper Nathan Holt and number eight Andy Barringer scored tries with centre Jack Smedley and full-back Tom Downer turning in strong performances.

Thorney take on Huntingdon seconds on Saturday in the Hunts & Peterborough County Cup final at the Ron Jacobs Playing Fields (2.30pm).
