City man James Fox celebrated a gold medal and another world record at the Para-Rowing World Cup in Italy yesterday (June 20).

Fox was part of the Great Britain mixed coxed four which won their final in Varese by over 15 seconds in a world record time of 3.13.76, beating a record they had set in their heat two days earlier by just under two seconds.

The GB crew were ahead from the start and powered clear in the second half of the 1,000m race to leave hosts Italy a distant second.

The crew will now be hotly fancied to win a medal at the World Championships in Aiguebalette, France in August/September.
