Rowing: City golden girls win Home International

Philippa Neill of King's School and former Orton Longueville pupil Natalie Bream rowed to victory in the crew of eight representing England at Saturday's Home International Regatta.

Philippa Neill of King's School and former Orton Longueville pupil Natalie Bream rowed to victory in the crew of eight representing England at Saturday's Home International Regatta.Competing against crews from Ireland, Wales and Scotland they raced in a composite crew made up of girls from as far away as Manchester and Reading. Over the 2k course at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham they took the lead from the Irish team after 250m, eventually winning by 18 seconds in a time of seven minutes 35 seconds.

Neill said: "What a fantastic way to end the season, Nat and I have won our third international event this year."
