But having already overcome the likes of Eynesbury, Biggleswade and Yaxley on their way to the showpiece, Taylor is hopeful his side can upset the formbook again.
He said: "We are on a high at the moment after winning the league and we are going into tonight's game with one intention, and that is to win.
"It would be a superb finale for our season if we could lift this cup and while we all know how hard it is going to be, there is a real belief that we can do it.
"We started out in this competition as the lowest ranked team in terms of which league we play in, so we are well used to being the underdogs. But that didn't stop us against the likes of Yaxley and Eynesbury who all play their football at a higher level.
"I have a fully fit squad to pick from and we have nothing to lose. It would be the icing on the cake for us and we will be giving everything to bring that trophy home."
Tonight's game will not be the first time the two teams have met this season.
St Ives knocked Ramsey out of the Hunts Senior Cup on their way to the final where they beat fellow city side Fletton 3-0.
And Taylor hopes that prior knowledge will help overcome a side whom he concedes go into the final as big, big favourites.
He added: "They beat us last time 2-0 but we finished with 10 men in that game and missed some good chances, so we know we can get at them if we bring our top game.
"I have watched them since then so we know where their strengths lie but we will not be changing much about our approach.
"If we worry about the quality they have and allow ourselves to be overawed they will murder us.
"The way we are seeing it is that we have another bite at them, it is a bit of unfinished business and we want to turn the tables this time.
"It is a wonderful occasion for the lads and I just hope they can make the most of it."
