Promoter Bratley's claims are 'scandalous' blasts fuming Ford
POOLE chief Matt Ford has dubbed accusations about his club's conduct when riding at the Showground last month as 'scandalous'.
POOLE chief Matt Ford has dubbed accusations about his club's conduct when riding at the Showground last month as 'scandalous'.Panthers complained in writing to the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA) in the aftermath of the May 14 clash which the city side won 55-38.
That meeting and the Pirates' trip to Swindon seven days earlier are now being looked into by the Speedway Control Board (SCB) after allegations of average manipulation ahead of their signing of Panthers asset Hans Andersen.
But fuming Ford said: "I find it incredible that a promoter like Mick Bratley, who is no longer a novice, would suggest that a rider not going out for a ride would manipulate an average.
"Mick is acting like a junior promoter and what he is saying is something I won't accept and take any more.
"I will involve the SCB and the BSPA, and if I have to go further I will, with reference to these scandalous comments made against Poole."
But Ford's outburst has done nothing to change the opinion of Bratley.
He said: "I am not interested in entering into a war of words. The issue here is not what I or anyone else said - it's what happened and it wasn't just me that saw it.
"I am the guy who has the duty of telling our supporters what is going on and that is what we have done."
Andersen is set to make his Poole debut tonight against Eastbourne.
TOP pair Fredrik Lindgren and Peter Karlsson delivered a final heat maximum on Monday as Wolverhampton remained in Elite League pole position. That allowed the Midlands men to bank the full three points from a 50-43 victory over Lakeside.
BELLE VUE climbed off the bottom of the standings by beating Eastbourne on Monday night.
Krzysztof Kasprzak, Ulrich Ostergaard and Patrick Hougaard all weighed in with a dozen points in a 57-39 success.
