POSH POINTS OF VIEW: On the poor start to the season, Fergie sticking to his guns, London Road being sold
On the poor start to the season I DON'T understand why people are so angry about the current situation – look at where we were two years ago.
On the poor start to the season
I DON'T understand why people are so angry about the current situation – look at where we were two years ago.The players have served us well, out-performed themselves and now are showing that for the most part they're going to struggle at Championship level.
However, they deserve our support and should be backed to get themselves out of trouble. They got themselves into this league and it is disrespectful to say they don't deserve an opportunity to fight to stay in it.
I think perhaps the reason people are so disappointed is the hype coming from the senior management at the start of the season – this was unrealistic to say the least.
Even if you compare us to Leicester who came up at the same time, we have nowhere near the resources at our disposal.
They average 10,000 more fans a week than us and we can't compete with the extra funds that brings in and the players that allows you to sign.
Fans shouting that we should buy big are just as unrealistic as Barry Fry et al were in saying we would get promoted.
In my opinion, unless a mad Saudi turns up we really are going to struggle to go a lot further than we are without building slowly over time.

THE manager is good enough, the owner is good enough but the players are not good enough. They are too lightweight and inexperienced.
If clubs are still willing to offer seven figures for Boyd etc then we should take it, rebuild and strengthen. Boyd is worth selling for that money to bring in quality.

YOU know, it makes me laugh reading a lot of comments about Fergie, Darragh and the players not being up to it.
What we have achieved up until now with the current management, owner and players has been the most refreshing, entertaining time I can ever remember at Posh.
Yeah, I'm only 29, but I have been watching Posh long enough to know when we are on to a good thing.

I'M getting a little worried now. How can a good team turn into a bad team almost overnight? When we beat Newcastle we looked like we had finally turned the corner.
What's gone wrong? When you look back over the last three years we have given Championship sides a good run for their money in cup competitions.
Come on Posh don't lose your fighting spirit, I know it's there somewhere.

On Darren Ferguson's vow to stick to his footballing principles after the 3-1 defeat at Doncaster ...
I ADMIRE Mr Ferguson for 'sticking to his guns' but beware. football is littered with good teams and good managers who wouldn't adapt to situations – Brian Clough, Ossie Ardiles and the relegated, star-studded Man Utd team.

THE problem is that Fergie is still sticking by certain players who are failing the team. Why hasn't Pearce been given a chance? If he's not good enough then why have we taken him on loan?
'Dave' (Diagouraga) is not good enough and should be replaced by Keates. He has failed to impress me and I think Fergie insists on playing him to justify the money we paid to buy him.
The new lad on loan, Rose, will cause more problems for the opposition if he plays on the right with Boyd reverting back to his more accustomed left midfield position.
He is fast and skillful but seems a bit lost at times in central midfield. 'Frecks' should take his central midfield place. Rowe looks a good prospect but at the moment seems too lightweight.
Changes are needed. It's about time Fergie dropped the players who continually fail. He's given them time but time will soon be against us.

FERGIE must be made to see sense – we all know the squad has never been strong enough or experienced enough to stay in this division and no amount of argument to the contrary will change that. The results and performances tell the story.

FERGIE is doing well with the players he has been allowed to sign.
Any manager would struggle in the Championship without a Championship-standard midfield (you know, the guys who shape the game).
The big worry is what happens if Posh stay up. Top players will be nearer the ends of their contracts and will not resign unless more money is made available. TV money of 500,000 per annum is only enough to pay five star players an extra 2,000 per week – not enough.

. . . on the city council possibly buying London Road
I CERTAINLY hope that our cash-strapped,cost-cutting, service-cutting and manpower-cutting council is not going to spend any of my tax on this sports facility. Maybe the footy fans could stump up the cash?
Andrew7
WE could easily build a new London Road in the present location. I hope the council do buy the ground so the club can move on and have no connection with Colin Hill and his cronies
razorisback
IT'LL be interesting to see what the council will charge Posh for rent.
Mrblackbird
DON'T give Hill a penny. Let London Road rot, build a new ground nearby and tell PUHL to get lost. Job done!

I THOUGHT the idea of building a new stadium was because the London Road ground wasn't big enough and has little scope for expansion.
If Posh do ever get into the Premier League, then a capacity of 15,000 will not be enough, so either stay where they are or build a stadium capable of holding at least 20,000.

Bristol City 1, Posh 1
GEORGE Boyd celebrated equalling Peterborough's record for consecutive appearances with a last-gasp strike to earn them a deserved draw.
Making an astonishing 124th consecutive appearance for Posh, Boyd (below) headed in from Danny Rose's cross in the final minute to send the visiting fans into raptures.
It was no more than Posh deserved after dominating for long spells against a Bristol City side who had gone ahead on the half-hour mark through Cole Skuse.

CENTRE-BACK Jason Shackell put paid to Peterborough's hopes of snatching a draw in last night's Championship clash at the Keepmoat Stadium when heading home the final goal in Rovers' 3-1 win from an 85th minute corner.

ROVERS were well worth the win against a team that matched them at times with their own passing game.
