PHANTOMS could lose their best-ever coach and their star player this summer.After becoming the first team ever to claim the English Premier League title, EPL Cup and play-off crown in one season, the Bretton club have established themselves as the hottest properties in the game.
But the triple crown could have come at a cost.
Coach Colin Patterson's stunning success in his eight months as Phantoms coach has alerted a number of clubs keen to employ his services.
It is believed the vastly experienced Canadian has been offered the chance to return to Phantoms but will review his situation over the summer after being offered jobs with a number of Elite League clubs.
He said: "I have had a wonderful time here in Peterborough and winning all three trophies has to be the highlight of my career.
"And while I would like to return there are lots of things I need to consider when I return to Canada this week. At this stage I do not know what is going to happen."
If Patterson does decide to leave, that could also spell the end of Nathan Rempel's career with the 'Boys in Blue'.
Sniper-in-chief Rempel is the club and EPL's top scorer with 57 goals after enjoying a blistering season with Phantoms, but his future could also be in some doubt.
He said: "I love Phantoms and I love playing with these guys but to a certain extent it does depend on what Colin is going to do.
"No decisions have been made one way or another about next season, but his return could well have an impact on where I will be playing my hockey."
One player whose future is not in doubt is fans' favourite Dwayne 'Dog' Newman who has pledged himself to the club for another season.
"I am getting on but I want one more season in this game and I would love that to be with the Phantoms," he said.
"Of course it is still very early to be talking about these things but if the club want me back then I am right here.
"I still think I have something to offer and after what we achieved this season I just want more.
"It has been a privilege playing with these guys. There is such a good team spirit and I don't want to give that up. I love it."
