Snooker: Joe Perry admitted he was in dreamland after beating seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry 5-1 in the Premier League in Plymouth last night. The local potter from Chatteris has now won all three of his league games to sit second in the seven-man table behind Mark Selby. The top four qualify for the lucrative play-offs in December.

Perry enjoyed breaks of 75, 101, 65 and 66 against the out of form Scot.

Perry said: "This is beyond my wildest dreams. I won't count my chickens yet as I still have three tough matches but if I play like that then I have a chance of getting through.

"I've played well in ranking events this season and on the whole my form has been pretty good. Being in the Premier League has made me a better player by giving me a lot more matches and that helps keeps you in good nick.

"I'm not now going into tournaments hoping I can win just my first match, now I'm going in there thinking I can win the whole event."

Ronnie O'Sullivan whitewashed Steve Davis 6-0 in last night's other match. Perry is next in action against Chinese ace Ding Junhui on November 6 in the Newport Centre.
