World champion Lauren Steadman from Sawtry led a British 1-2-3 in the PT4 event at the ITU World Paratriathlon Event at a sun-drenched Strathclyde Park yesterday (June 5).

She won another gold medal for Great Britain at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games venue just a week after winning the European Championship title in Portugal.

Steadman has already met the qualification criteria for the Rio Paralympic Games and put on a dominant performance in the PT4 event to finish ahead of team-mates Kerry Large and Ruth Wilson, who were racing in only their second ever international events having come through British Triathlon’s talent ID system.

Steadman completed the 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run in 1:09:55 with runner-up Large clocking 1:16:28.
