Skip of Gold

Skip of Gold is a community initiative between the Peterborough Telegraph and Mick George Ltd. offering £1,000 to a local sports club or organisation.

Winners announced

The votes have been counted and Mick George are delighted to announce Peterborough Netball Club as the winners of the 2013 Skip of Gold.

A message from Mick George Ltd.

The sports-loving and forward thinking management team at Mick George is patron of the Posh Foundation, the charity working in association with Peterborough United Football Club which aims to improve the lives of vulnerable young people of the greater Peterborough area.

A keen believer in building positive community relationships Mick George Ltd. is also an active sponsor of numerous sporting associations and events across the region, often with employee participation.

Like so many others, Mick George Ltd. were inspired by the commitment, effort and passion of the many sportsmen and women of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Skip of Gold was born out of a desire to build upon this legacy and unearth new talent for the next set of budding champions.

Finance Director Jon Stump explains: "Skip of Gold is an initiative which allowed us to dig a little deeper and find out more about the clubs, activities and people who make Peterborough a vibrant and happening place whilst at the same time directly benefitting the communities in which we all live and work.

He continues, "We have been absolutely thrilled with the response to the scheme and delighted to see such a diverse range of nominations."
