The Peterborough Harriers Volleyball Club are looking forward to another successful season, starting tomorrow (Saturday), after finishing the 2011/2012 campaign with a bang.
The men compete in both the Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire League and last season won the Lincs League and both league knockout cup competitions.
They also secured the Most Valuable Player awards in both leagues through Damian Cichocki (Cambs team) and Krasi Kovachev (Lincs team).
The ladies team emulated their successful 2010/2011 Eastern Volleyball League season, coming runners-up to USAF Lakenheath.
The club’s head coach Alan Stones said: “The success achieved was the culmination of three years planning and good foresight to see the bigger picture by key committee members. I would like to thank everyone involved in the coaching, the team managers and the committee members, because without their dedication, support and volunteering, Peterborough Harriers Volleyball Club would not be where it is today.
“The club has a great foundation to build on now, and we are looking forward to a fruitful 2012/13 season.”
Peterborough Harriers Volleyball Club is open to players of all ages and skill levels, and will welcome interested players to the weekly training sessions held at the Voyager School in Walton on Tuesday (open to all, skills-based training), Wednesday (advanced ladies session) and Thursday (advanced men’s session) at 7.30pm each night.
