ATHLETICS: Johnson takes the Frostbite honours again

Anthony Johnson of Werrington Joggers won his second Frostbite League race of the season at Bourne yesterday (February 7).

He raced home in 27mins 19secs with runner-up James Mogridge of Yaxley Runners finishing in 27:39. Third was Paul Vernon of PACTRAC in 28:03.

Johnson won the first race in the six-race series at St Neots, Mogridge won the fourth at March while Vernon took the honours in race two at Bushfield and race three at Huntingdon.

First lady home out of a field of 406 runners was in-form Nene Valley Harrier Cat Foley-Wray. She was 16th in 30:19.

Junior race winner was Joey Croft of Hunts AC in 9:31 followed by PACTRAC’s Jonathan Oakey in 10:07.

The last race in the series is at Hinchingbrooke School on March 13.
