Runner-up was England star Steve Hemmingray on 12lb 11oz, followed by Alistair Ogilvie on 12lb 7oz.

It was a very good day for the Sensas Mark One camp as another of their team, John Bates, stole the show on the Welland.

He netted roach all day fishing bread and also groundbait and pinkie to weigh in 20lb 9oz.

That was just enough to see off team-mate Josh Pace on 20lb 8oz, and then came Steve Bulbeck with 18lb 6oz.

Top pair on the day were Alistair Ogilvie and Alex Bates on a total of 30lb 12oz. Runners-up were John Bates and Arnie Palmer with a total of 28lb 5oz.

So the Sensas Mark One lads had a great day’s action but nothing could stop Mark Pollard and Lee Klymczuk from taking a well deserved series win, despite slipping up a little in the last round.

STANJAY TACKLE LEAGUE

The Stanjay Tackle Winter League was another series that came to an end on Sunday.

The entry was swollen by anglers from far and wide looking for a practice day on the venues chosen for the forthcoming Winter League final, especially as there is talk of a section being moved onto the March Twenty Foot Drain.

Local rod Rob Wright came second. Wright lives near Parson Drove but fished for Browning Hotrods and caught a net of roach weighing in at 25lb 14oz.

March angler Bob Fitzjohn was third putting 18lb 14oz to the scales.
