Like most of us out and about, the wind played havoc with presentation, although the hot pegs in the 20s fared better than most thanks to a back wind.

Out in front was Chris Saunders. He drew peg 30 and caught on the long pole with pellet for 70lb 13oz.

In second place was Will Hadley, who fished similar tactics to the winner from peg 29 to finish with 60lb 7oz.

Third place went to Ray Pauley on 24, who weighed in 45lb 15oz taken on pellet.

OVER 55s

Vince Hull topped the latest Decoy Over 55s event fished on the Beastie Lake, despite being a little disappointed to draw peg three.

But after netting a double-figure fish on his first cast on the feeder his mood soon changed. He finished on 76lb 8oz all taken on sweetcorn and pellet.

PIKE MATCH

In the Angling Trust Pike match fished at Bodsey Bridge only four small jack pike were taken throughout the day on a usually prolific venue. Terry Waple caught one at 2lb 10oz, then came Derek Mansell on 2lb 7oz and Keith Rayment with 1lb 14oz.
