DICK Creasey celebrated a second successive victory as Fenmen caretaker boss – then heaped all the praise on his players.Creasey – a successful manager with Wisbech, Spalding and Holbeach – is adamant he has no interest in succeeding Gary Setchell on a permanent basis.
But he sure still knows how to get results which means the new man at the helm, who is expected to be appointed this week, will inherit a side in good nick.
Creasey said: "I just like winning football matches and I'm pleased to have done that twice while I've been looking after things here at Wisbech.
"It is not down to me though. It is all about the lads who gave their all for the cause again. The lack of football lately was a big concern going into the game, but they worked really hard.
"We looked a big heavy-legged in the last 20 minutes but we won the game more comfortably than the final scoreline suggests."
Scott Cubberley broke the deadlock from the penalty spot just past the half-hour after Robbie Harris had been sent tumbling.
Goalscorer then turned provider on the stroke of the interval as Anthony Reeve was left unattended to head home a Cubberley corner.
Debenham reduced their arrears midway through the second period but Rory Harper was on hand to pounce after another flag-kick had sparked panic in the home defence.
The hosts made the scoreline more respectable in stoppage time.
Wisbech: Street, Cobb, Reeve, Leggett, Yong, Smith, M. Jimson (Spittlehouse), Thompson, Cubberley, Harris, Harper. Unused: Edey, Watson.

TEAM BURY 4, MARCH 3
HARES boss Jamie Weston clearly wasn't lying when he dubbed this clash 'the most bizarre game I've ever been involved in'.
March were left gutted not to claim at least a share of the spoils despite playing 75 minutes with only 10 men after the early dismissal of Scott Welcher.
Weston's men still managed to grab three goals, hit the woodwork twice, have two more efforts cleared off the line and also be denied by one wonderful save.
"One of their players should have gone in the first minute for a shocker of a tackle, but the referee didn't even book him," said Weston.
"He then got away with another one before Scott caught him. I've got no complaints about it being a red card but the referee should have taken action sooner.
"They did have a man sent off later on, but it wasn't a dirty game – just a bizarre one."
March skipper Luke Pepper got his team back into the game at 2-1 early in the second period before the numbers were levelled by the referee.
They then fell further behind before Denny Escorcio and Scott Bogusz hauled them level.
March were aggrieved to concede a fourth goal after the assistant referee had raised his flag during the build-up only for play to continue. They could find no reply despite a torrent of late pressure.
March: Heath, McGeorge (Liviti), M. Welcher, Cook, Sutton, Roddis (Roe), Pepper, Parker (White), Escorcio, Bogusz, S. Welcher. Unused: M. Anker.
