RAUNDS 2, DEEPING 2

DEEPING endured an afternoon to forget as their inconsistent season took another twist.Rock-bottom Raunds had lose their previous seven fixtures before facing Pat Rayment's men, but a late equaliser allowed them to pick up a point in this contest.

An own goal from Deeping defender John-Paul Duncliffe gave Raunds an unexpected early advantage that they held until just short of the hour when Scott Musgrove hauled Deeping level from the penalty spot.

Midfield man Luke Kennedy completed a quick turnaround with a second Rangers goal soon after and that should have laid the foundations for a march to victory.

But they were denied when conceding again in the closing stages. Rayment said: "We failed to beat a struggling team containing a whole host of youngsters who barely earn a penny and that's a major concern.

Deeping: Lowndes, Duncliffe, Holyoak, Goode, B. Porter, Griffiths, Kennedy, Musgrove, Bettinson (Thomson), Stevens. Unused: Tinkler, Hussey.

DAVENTRY UTD 0, BOURNE 0

BOURNE snapped a three-match losing streak - and only the crossbar prevented them from returning to winning ways.

Manager Martyn Lakin was pleased with any sort of positive result after a poor recent run but was gutted to see a late Nathan Stainfield header crash back off the woodwork.

Lakin said: "We had to buck the losing trend and keeping a clean sheet was a massive plus.

"We had 75 per cent of the possession and carved out three-or-four good chances whereas Daventry created very little. I'm pleased with how we played and feel we deserved more than just one point."

Bourne: Jarman, Parr, O. Smith, Stainfield, Jackson, Kirton (Lawrence), Cartwright, G. Staffieri, Pascu (Masters), Dunn, A. Staffieri. Unused: Day, McDonnell.

WELLINGBOROUGH 2, HOLBEACH 2

HOLBEACH came from behind, hit the front and then dropped two points due to a goalkeeping error.

That is a brief synopsis of their visit to Wellingborough - a fixture which left player-manager Shaun Keeble far from happy.

"We should have won the game," he insisted. "We never really got out of first gear and that is the disappointing thing."

Jonny Allen hauled Holbeach level midway through the first half and then fired them ahead after being picked out by a Craig Parker cross seconds into the second period.

But Holbeach's hopes of victory were dashed when keeper James Doughty allowed a long-range shot to creep inside his post.

Holbeach: Doughty, Thompson (Elston), Fairweather, Horsewood, Brooks (Keeble), Allen, Cook, Sedlan, Parker, Nimmo, Lambe (Crane).

YAXLEY 1, DAVENTRY TOWN 2

YAXLEY couldn't stop table-topping Daventry Town from romping to a seventh straight victory.

The struggling Cuckoos gave a decent account of themselves at Leading Drove. They fell two down before recent signing Carl Taylor cut their arrears 17 minutes from time.
