DEEPING 1
ST NEOTS 1A LATE leveller which earned a second draw of the season against big-spending title-chasers was not enough to satisfy Rangers boss Pat Rayment.
Dan Holyoak met a Scott Musgrove delivery when heading home from close range with four minutes remaining to ensure honours ended even.
Deeping had gone behind to a wickedly-deflected early free-kick but were the dominant side for much of the contest with Musgrove and Ashley Stevens being denied.
Rayment admitted: "We had pressure, we had possession and we had chances, but we lacked the cutting edge to turn those things into goals.
"We absolutely battered them in all honesty in the second half and we should have won the game."
Michael Stevenson made his Deeping return after leaving Stamford while David Cobb has completed the same switch on loan.
The St Neots squad featured player-manager Steve Lomas as well as three former Posh players in keeper Luke McShane and widemen Tony Scully and Daniel French.
Deeping: Bircham, Duncliffe, Holyoak, Goode, B. Porter, Griffiths, Musgrove (Kennedy), Stevenson, Cobb (M. Porter), Stevens, Bettinson.
BLACKSTONES 1
LONG BUCKBY 2
STONES boss David Bird is in danger of becoming a broken record.
Yet again he was left to explain an enterprising Stones performance marred by missed chances as his side went down to defeat.
Fourth-placed Long Buckby were the latest team to punish his profligate players with goals either side of a classy Elton Holmes free-kick – all in the second half.
Bird said: "I keep saying the same things over and over again, but it is so frustrating to be the better side yet keep losing. We proved again we are a match for a top side and even their manager admitted they mugged us!"
Blackstones: Flavell, Bird, R. Jones, Glover (Bomkin), Ainslie, Boome, Pippard, De Silva (Vieira), Holmes (Fountain), M. Jones, Scotcher. Unused: Doyle, Strange.
BOURNE 3
RAUNDS 2
ADDIE Staffieri continued his rich scoring form as the Wakes completed a double over lowly Raunds.
Staffieri bagged a second-half brace to take his goal tally to 17 during a fine personal season. That came after substitute Jack Houghton had cancelled out a Raunds opener.
The visitors struck again at the death but Bourne have now beaten the bottom two on successive Saturdays.
Manager Martyn Lakin said: "Raunds took Boston Town to the wire in their previous game so we knew it wouldn't be a cakewalk.
"It wasn't a classic game by any means, but the main thing is picking up the points to continue climbing the table."
Bourne: Jarman, O. Smith, Stainfield, Cartwright, Brooks (Kirton), Jackson, Parr, G. Staffieri, A. Staffieri, Masters, Gray (Houghton). Unused: Day.
DAVENTRY TOWN 6
HOLBEACH 1
THE injury-plagued Tigers were blown away by table-topping Daventry Town.
Holbeach boss Shaun Keeble was seriously aggrieved about the manner of their heaviest defeat of the season.
He felt fouls went unpunished in the build-up to two goals, insisted another was clearly offside and also saw veteran defender Dean Elston score an own goal. Liam Nimmo, who is still mulling over a move to Bourne, hit Holbeach's goal.
Keeble said: "Daventry are a very good side – well organised and strong - but we didn't deserve to lose this heavily. The manner of some of their goals was difficult to take."
Holbeach: Doughty, Thompson, Fairweather, Elston, Parker, Lambe, Sedlan, Oswin, Cook, Sutton, Nimmo. Unused: Keeble, Crane.

ON CHENECKS 2
HUNTINGDON 0
TOWN were unable to o vercome the absence of several key players as they went down at Chenecks.
Huntingdon boss Al Lenihan was without suspended trio Dave Beeny, Ian Fovargue and Chris Brown.
The home side hit the front midway through the opening half and then sealed the points two minutes from time.
Town had to field striker Stuart Eason in goal with regular keeper Dave Beeny banned.
Huntingdon: Eason, Ling, Peacock, Lenihan, Crick, Furness, Moakes, Quinney, Rankin, Edwards, Graham. Unused: O'Keeffe.
