New coach Tim is ready to get tough with Phantoms

NEW coach Tim Peacock insists discipline will be the key to saving Phantoms' miserable season.

NEW coach Tim Peacock insists discipline will be the key to saving Phantoms' miserable season.Former assistant coach Peacock took the job following the sacking of Doug Irwin who oversaw a campaign in which the reigning treble-holders lost all hope of defending their English Premier League and EPL Cup crowns months ago.

The only trophy Phantoms still have a chance of holding onto is the play-off crown but if that's going to happen, Peacock knows things need to change.

He said: "Last season when we won everything under Colin Patterson we were not giving away silly penalties. In fact we had the second best disciplinary record in the league.

"This time around that has not been the case. We have been giving up silly fouls and as we have learnt, we are not going to win anything from the penalty box.

"So the first thing I am going to do is to try and get the guys playing with more control in that respect."

But instilling more discipline is not the only change Peacock plans to make.

He added: "We really need to be passing the puck with a bit more pace and just generally working harder when we are not in possession.

"If those things can be put right, and I am sure they can, when everyone is fit we have a team here fully capable of going on and winning the play-offs in April, but it is going to be a lot of hard work."
