New Oundle Town manager arrives with a good pedigree

DAN Dobson is the new manager of Oundle.

DAN Dobson is the new manager of Oundle.Dobson has stepped up from the role of assistant to succeed former boss Danny Clifton, who has departed due to increased work commitments.

And Dobson has immediately set his sights on leading Oundle into the top half of the Peterborough League Premier Division standings after two torrid seasons of struggle.

Dobson, who was in-charge for a number of games towards the end of last season, said: "The most important thing for me is bringing stability to the club after having something like half-a-dozen managers in three seasons.

"Oundle is a good club with solid foundations that definitely deserves to be in the Premier Division.

"My job is to bring in the right players and them working the right way to get us up into the top half of the table."

Oundle finished bottom of the pile in the 2007-08 campaign when they only received a reprieve due to other clubs folding. Last season they finished third-bottom.

Dobson's previous taste of management came with Sunday morning side Pedigree Petfoods - now known as Limetree.

Oundle begin pre-season training on Saturday, June 27 at 1pm at their Station Road base. Anyone interested in joining can go along or give Dobson a call on 07868 849275.
