Neale Wade Community College girls Under 13 football team have won through to the South East regional final in the Minute Maid sponsored National Cup.The March-based youngsters beat Ousedale School from Milton Keynes 4-1 at Wimblington's Parkfield ground, to secure their place in the final on May 1, which is being held at Kenilworth Road, the home of Luton Town FC.

The visitors scored first, but Neale Wade replied with two quick strikes from Alesi Willett and captain Frances Peeling. Chelsea Weston increased the lead just before half-time.

In the second half playing against the wind and up the famous Wimblington slope, Neale Wade battled extremely hard and restricted the visitors to only a couple of long range efforts. Finally, Georgia Thorpe sealed the victory with an excellent turn and finish.

Team manager Dave Kenning said: "The girls have done fantastically well and it would be wrong to single any individual out in what was an excellent team performance".

The College hopes to lay on a coach to the final for relatives and friends. Anyone interested should contact J. Lucas on 01354 651329 to reserve a seat.

Anyone who would like to sponsor the squad for the final in Luton, please contact J. Lucas on the same number.
