Matthew's Gladders all over after trampolining victory
MORE than 100 competitors took part in the annual Aero Kinetics Trampoline Club Championships at Werrington Sports Centre.
MORE than 100 competitors took part in the annual Aero Kinetics Trampoline Club Championships at Werrington Sports Centre.Ages ranged from four years old to 16, while every standard from total novice to elite stars were represented.
For most of the younger entrants it was their first taste of competition and they all performed well with Chel'c Walker (5) and Allisha Higgins (8) finishing in the top spots.
Beginners Charlotte Wadsley, Tiia Welsh and Hannah Graham also won their respective groups, while Ria Crown, Mehan Gooch, Bethany English, Samantha Pickering and Stephanie Thorpe also recorded first places.
The club's top trampolinists competed in the advanced, advanced plus and elite groups and standards were particularly high.
Advanced winners were Adele Haynes and Ellish Asplin with Lucy Barber taking the Advanced Plus title.
The club's top two performers battled it out for elite glory with Matthew Gladders just pipping Ross Weatherburn for first place.
But the highlight of the day was the synchronised trampolining event where two performers attempt to perform identical routines in perfect timing with each other.
In the Novice group Joanna Newman and Rebecca Hammond kept their routine together to finish in first place. Megan Carr and Rebecca Muncaster also performed their routines with excellent synchronisation to win the Intermediate group.
But the best performance of the day was given by Matthew Gladders and Andy Gladders who performed their routines in almost perfect timing to give an exciting display of top quality trampolining.
