FOUR young students from Parkers Tang Soo Do martial arts school were punching well above their weight at CLASH UK.The national event, held at South Wigston, attracts the best fighters from across the country, but despite being short on years, the youngsters are clearly long on talent after walking away with a bundle of awards.

Kieran Gow, 11, took second place in the team forms event and third in traditional weapons while another 11 year-old, Sam Richardson, won the traditional weapons category.

And just to make sure the boys didn't get all the glory, Shannon Parker and Shannon Skingley got in on the act.

Parker, 14, came second in team forms, first in weapons and second in traditional forms while Skingley, 11, was runner-up in team forms and second in the fighting class.

All four performed with distinction and won high praise from their instructor, Ian Parker.

He said: "These four fighters are real stars of the future and they did themselves and the club proud.

" To go to such a high quality event and perform so confidently is a real testament to the effort they all put into martial arts."
