SIZZLING seven year-old Bradley Hughes became a British martial arts champion in his first ever competition.

SIZZLING seven year-old Bradley Hughes became a British martial arts champion in his first ever competition.Hughes was part of the the successful Parkers Serial Kickers stable whose 13 entrants returned from 'The Battle' in Leicester with 21 trophies.

The national competition attracted around 200 entrants from across the country, but Ian Parker's brilliant bunch from Mountsteven Avenue Scouts Hut stole the show.

And no-one created a bigger impression than Hughes who had only been training for seven months before roaring to victory in the fighting discipline.

"It is absolutely brilliant for Bradley to become a British champion in his first competition," said proud instructor Ian Parker.

"We might only be a small club, but we have a hell of a lot of quality and to come back from such a high-class event with so many medals is fantastic."

It proved to be a glorious family day out for Lee Wilson and his sons Dylan (14) and Braden (7) as they all took titles.

Father Lee led the way in his sparring class while elder brother Dylan mopped up the fighting honours, but Braiden went one better by doing the double in forms and fighting.
