FOOTBALL: The Peterborough Sunday Morning League soccer scandal took another twist as Lord Westwood have now been re-instated to the PFA Senior Cup and will play Netherton in the final this weekend.Lord Burghley beat Netherton in the original final a fortnight ago, but it transpired they had fielded an ineligible player in man of the match Richard Jones.

Jones is under contract at United Counties League outfit Blackstones which bars him from playing in the Peterborough Sunday Morning League.

But it has now emerged that Jones also played in Burghley's semi-final win over Lord Westwood so the city pub side have been re-instated to the competition. The decision is expected to be ratified at a PFA meeting on Wednesday.

Netherton now face two cup finals in three days. They tackle Jubilee North End in the Hereward Cup decider at Chestnut Avenue on Friday (6.15pm) before tackling Lord Westwood at the same venue on Sunday (10am).

Jubilee were re-instated to the Hereward Cup after losing in the quarter finals to Lord Burghley. They beat Deeping in a re-arranged semi-final on Friday night.

Jones, Lord Burghley and Blackstones face severe sanctions from the PFA.
