He missed an early penalty but then went on to score seven in an 11-0 win.
FOOTBALL: Dan Duffy smashed a hat-trick as Newalls beat Wimblington Old Boys 6-5 in their opening Peterborough League fixture.
FOOTBALL: Dave Llewelyn was outstanding for West Ham Reserves as they beat Posh Reserves 2-0 in front of a crowd of 1,526 at London Road.
CRICKET: It was a mixed weekend for Casuals batsman Geoff Dale. He scored 103 not out against Coates in the Peterborough League on the Saturday and was then out for a duck in Sunday's match against British Sugar. Gordon Brewster took 6-19 for the Sugarmen.
POSH: Jim Hall got the goal in a 1-0 League Cup win at home to Doncaster Rovers.
CRICKET: Nineteen year-old William Taylor turned in a magnificent all-round display for the Peterborough Town midweek XI. He took 6-33, scored 24 runs batting at number eight and took three fine catches as Town beat Melton Mowbray.

CRICKET: Whittlesey leg-spinner Maurice Starkey took 6-39 in a friendly against King's Lynn.
SQUASH: Favourite Steve Gray was knocked out of the ET Handicap Competition at the fourth round stage by Robin Soar 8-10, 9-4, 9-3, 9-6.
SPEEDWAY: Panthers slumped to a 44-34 defeat at National League rivals Teeside. The only bright spot was a 14-point haul for teenager Tim Hunt.
FOOTBALL: Posh Youths beat Tottenham 3-2 with goals by David English, Kevin Bunn and Matthew Rossi.
POSH: Alan Slough and Tommy Robson scored the goals as Posh beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 in front of a London Road crowd of 7,468.
FOOTBALL: Gary Chapman netted eight times for March Youth Club as they walloped Ryhall 15-0 in the Peterborough League.
FOOTBALL: The referee threatened to abandon the Wisbech v Thetford match in the Town and Country League when Thetford's Jerry Sutton appeared to be struck by a spectator as he went behind the goal at Fenland Park to retrieve the ball. Wisbech lost 3-1.
FISHING: Lawrence Constable from the Chatteris Woking Men's Club team took the individual honours in the Division Three National on the Witham with 29lb 8oz.
20 YEARS AGO
ROWING: James Hunter-Todd was a double winner for Peterborough City Rowing Club at their Autumn Regatta, winning the Senior 2 single sculls on both days.
CRICKET: John McDougall hit 89 out of Market Deeping's 217-4 as they beat Grantham by 124 runs in the South Lincs League Premier Division.
CRICKET: Adam Howorth (5-35) and Ajaz Akhtar (4-29) were the stars for Peterborough Town in their five-wicket win, also over Grantham in the South Lincs League Premier Division.
POSH: Brazilian ace Mirandinha thrilled a crowd of almost 4,000 fans who turned up at London Road for a friendly against First Division Newcastle United. The Magpies won 7-0 with Mirandinha scoring four of the goals including a hat-trick in the space of six minutes.
GOLF: Joe Brady equalled the Thorpe Wood course record of 74 in the August Medal.
CRICKET: Peterborough League Division Two title-chasers Central suffered a shock defeat against Coates. Coates were all out for 52 but then Central were shot out for 49 with Russell Woodward claiming 6-20.
CRICKET: Ian Chilvers took 8-15 for Old Deaconians in a Peterborough League Division One win over Thomas Cook.
10 YEARS AGO
BOWLS: Nick Brett, representing the White Hart at Warboys, won the All-England Under 25 singles title at Worthing after having won the indoor crown a few months earlier.
FOOTBALL: Louis Evans scored a hat-trick for the Posh Under 17 side in a 5-1 win over Wisbech.
FOOTBALL: Posh Under 19s drew 2-2 with Wimbledon, Tony Shields and Warren Kenna getting on the scoresheet,
FOOTBALL: Willie Gale scored a hat-trick on his Deeping debut against Stamford Bels in the Peterborough League Premier Division. Deeping won 4-0.
FOOTBALL: Gavin Dolby netted a hat-trick for Spalding in their 9-1 United Counties League win over Potton.
POSH: Leon Mckenzie scored twice as Posh won 3-1 at Cardiff in Division Three. Martin Carruthers got the other goal.
CRICKET: Adam Craig (77) and Brian Howard (5-18) played the leading roles for Peterborough Town in a 102-run win over Wolverton in the Northants Championship.
ATHLETICS: Tom Rawson won four events for Nene Valley Harriers as they won their final Southern Men's League Division Three match to clinch promnotion to Division Two. Rawson was also second in the javelin.
