Ken Stimpson Community School are tops when it comes to basketball.

The Werrington school have had their best ever season in the Peterborough Schools Championships with three wins out of three so far. And there’s a good chance of making it a clean sweep of four out of four next term.

So far the school’s Under 16 boys and Under 16 girls teams have emerged victorious and the Under 14 girls team have also won their age group.

The Under 14 boys go for glory after Christmas.

In the Under 14 girls competition Ken Stimpson won all their games, seeing off the challenges of Orton Bushfield Academy, Stanground, Peterborough High School and Jack Hunt to pick up their first ever girls trophy.

The Under 16s girls beat Stanground 8-0 in the deciding match in their competition.

Last year the Under 16 boys team from Ken Stimpson narrowly missed out when losing 27-24 to Jack Hunt in the final.

This year they were determined to make amends and so it turned out as they won 21-14 against Jack Hunt in the final.

Under 14 girls results:

Bushfield 2, Ken Stimpson 18 (Radcaz 16, Baldwin 2); Jack Hunt 2, Ken Stimpson 14 (Crutchfield 2, Radcaz 2, Forrest 6, Baldwin 2, Hutton 2); Stanground 2, Ken Stimpson 8 (Radcaz 6, Forrest 2).
