Chatteris cueman Joe Perry’s splendid run in the Gdynia Open in Poland came to an end at the quarter-final stage today (March 1) when he was beaten 4-1 by former World Champion Mark Williams.

Perry won the first frame against Williams, but couldn’t match the consistency of his opponent.

Perry had beaten Dave Gilbert 4-3 in a last-16 tie this morning. He reached the last 16 by dropping just two frames in three matches againt Matthew Stevens (4-1), Zhang Anda (4-0) and Anthony McGill (4-1).

Perry recorded three century breaks in the tournament including one against Gilbert today.
