MOTORSPORT: Thurston makes the podium at Silverstone
There was a fine end to the racing season for Peterborough-based teenager Ed Thurston.
The sixteen year-old historic car racing driver claimed third place at the Historic Formula Ford meeting at Silverstone.
Despite it only being his third ever car-racing meeting, Thurston calmly steered his 1971 Elden single-seater to the podium steps with the only drivers to beat him in a 44-strong field being former champions in the very same class.
