GIBRALTAR OPEN: Gentleman Joe beat the Whirlwind but can't keep up with Jones

The Chatteris cueman beat Jimmy ‘The Whirlwind’ White 4-2 in the fourth round, but found Jamie Jones too strong last night, losing 4-1.

Perry had been Zach Richardson 4-2 in his opening round match.

Perry found scoring difficult all tournament, making just one half century against White and none at all against Jones.

Perry won a scrappy first frame against Jones, but the Welshman rattled off breaks of 79, 78, 56 and 76 to ease into the last 16.
