SPEEDWAY: Panthers hero Hans Andersen is set to sign for Coventry today. The Danish star – who refused to ride for the city club again until recovering tens of thousands of pounds of unpaid wages and sponsorship – has agreed a deal to join the Bees on loan for the rest of the season.

Andersen, who completes a 14-day ban on Sunday, is expected to make his debut for his new club at Peterborough next Thursday.

He said: "I'm just pleased to get it sorted. It was actually a relief to get my situation out in the open and then not getting any sort of response from Peterborough was the final straw.

"I'm not even thinking about my future after this season, I am just looking forward to spending the next two months racing in England

"Of course the door is not totally closed on riding for Peterborough again but it is for as long as the current regime is in place. I have bills to pay just like everyone else and the only way I can do that is by doing my job."

Coventry owner Allen Trump said: "We have agreed a deal with Hans to bring him to Coventry."

Panthers team boss Trevor Swales said: "It is not my place to comment on what is going on. My objective always has been Peterborough Speedway and no one person is bigger than the club."
