And in some of the 10 categories there are clear leaders after the first two weeks of voting.

But with the closing date for entry not until 16 January, there is still a long way to go.

Those to make an early impression include Ketton Cricket Club’s charismatic captain Rob Vitas in the Sports Personality of the Year category, world kick-boxing champion Gaynor Morgan in Sportswoman of the Year, Dan Cotton in Footballer of the Year and Emma Pollard in Junior Footballer of the Year.

There’s also been strong support so far for Peterborough’s junior world kick-boxing champions Eddy Paddock (Junior Sportsman) and Freya Molloy and Jaden Harris (Junior Sportswoman).

Details of how to vote can be found on our website at peterboroughtoday.co.uk

The first three in each of the 10 categories will be invited to the presentation dinner at the Cresset on January 30 when the winners will be announced.
