Peterborough Phantoms have signed experienced utlity player Lloyd Gibson from English Premier League rivals Sheffield Steeldogs.

Gibson has played 466 games in the EPL for Sheffield clubs Scimatars and Steeldogs scoring 85 goals and 204 points.

Phantoms head coach Slava Koulikov said: “I am very pleased that Lloyd has joined our Phantoms family. I have played many games against Steeldogs and he is always one player I remember. Lloyd has a bit of everything: his stats are consistent every year, he is a good skater, he can score and he can set plays up.

“He is physical and I hear only good things about him as a person. Lloyd can also play as a forward or a defenceman. He ticks all the boxes and I am very much looking forward to working with him come August.”

Gibson added: “After five minutes on the phone with Slava I knew I wanted to join the Phantoms. His plans for the upcoming season are really exciting and he wants to build and improve on the success of last year.

“At the end of the day I want to win trophies and that’s why I’m coming to Peterborough. I will work hard for the team every time and hopefully chip in with some goals as well. I just want to get the season started and I’m really looking forward to getting going on the ice for the Phantoms.”
