Islanders need to get title tilt back on track
PETERBOROUGH islanders will be trying to get their title tilt back on the rails against Swindon on Saturday.
The city side have spent the last 10 days licking their wounds after taking a 12-1 beating from English National League Division Two title rivals, Solent and Gosport Devils.
And following the sudden departure of coach Richard Wheatley, new boss Ross Mackinstosh is anxious to get things back on an even keel.
He said: “We were not as bad at Gosport as a 12-1 scoreline suggests. It was one of those games where everything they hit seemed to go in. They were the better team on the night without a doubt but we didn’t deserve to lose by that scoreline.
“And parting company with Richard has also caused some disruption but he had to leave due to work commitments and we just have to move on. So getting a win under our belts against Swindon is going to be really important.
“It is not going to be easy as they have strengthened by picking up a few of the lads from Oxford but we will be up for the game.”
Islanders’ game against Swindon faces off at the Peterborough Arena at 5pm on Saturday.
