Islanders bounce back in style to tame the Wildcats

PETERBOROUGH Islanders bounced back to winning ways with a 6-3 win against Swindon Wildcats.

After losing 12-1 to English National League Division Two South title rivals Solent and Gosport Devils in their previous outing, the ’Isles’ were desperate to get their campaign back on track at the Peterborough Arena last Saturday.

And thanks to goals from Ross Horsley (2), Dave Mitcheli, Nathan Pollard, Leon Groom and a first senior marker for youngster Mitch White they got the job done on home ice.

Despite the win, however, the Devils remain favourites to land the league crown as they are currently two points clear with three games in hand.

The Islanders will be trying to cut that deficit on Saturday when they entertain Romford Fury at the Peterborough Arena (face-off 5pm).
