CITY of Peterborough enjoyed a brilliant start to the National Under 15 Finals weekend at the University of Birmingham, but a big step up in class eventually proved too much.The city youngsters can be proud of travelling further in the competition than any other side in the club's history even though they finished bottom of the four-man table.

Marcus Howard, from a short corner, and Joe Houghton saw City 2-0 ahead against Cannock in their opening match, but the National Premier Division side recovered to win 4-2.

City also lost 7-1 to Teddington – Sam Perrin scored the goal – and 5-0 to eventual winners Bromley & Beckenham.

CITY of Peterborough Ladies thirds went down 4-0 to Ely in the final of the Cambs Premier Division Cup at Perse School, Cambridge on Saturday.
