FORMER Welsh international Mike Yeoman ruffled a few of his countrymen's feathers over the weekend. The City of Peterborough player/coach switched allegiance from Wales to the East for the National Over 45s divisional tournament and, perhaps inevitably, both teams made it through to the final at East Grinstead.

And Yeoman emerged victorious on a personal and team count as he scored both goals in a 2-0 win for the East.

Clubmates Aggi Milner and Peter Hings also represented the winners who beat South (1-0), West (1-0), Scotland (2-0) and Midlands (2-0) on their way to the final.

In the East team picture Yeoman (third from the left) and Hings (fourth from the left) are in the front row and Milner (third from the left) is in the back row.

CAMBS finished fourth out of five teams in the County Championships at Bretton Gate over the weekend. Cambs beat Leicestershire, but lost to eventual winners Bedfordshire, Essex and Herts.

City of Peterborough were represented in the Cambs squad by Simon Shorter, James Richardson, George Houghton, Paul Hillsdon, Mark Patrick, Shane Vincent, Andy Scholfield, Simon Schofield, Sanjay Dhanani and Danny Needham.

Jordan Heald also played for 10 minutes in the final match at Essex as a reward for helping out behind the scenes. He is now one of the youngest players ever to play for the full Cambs side.
