City of Peterborough Ladies are still a point away from a first-ever appearance in the East Premier Division after a 3-3 home draw with Norwich Dragons seconds at Bretton Gate today (March 11).

City needed a win to secure promotion from Division One North, but had to twice fight back from two goals behind to claim a point against surprisingly stubborn opponents.

The Dragons scored early and then added a second goal before the break on the breakaway after surviving heavy City pressure.

City were dominant in the second-half and soon pulled a goal back through Tierney Augustine, but all looked lost when Dragons raced down the other end to restore their two-goal advantage.

But this is a City side with a great deal of grit and determination and Anna Faux and Robyn Gribble claimed late goals to claim a crucial point. Faux sisters Anna and Emma were named joint players-of-the-match.

One more point from games at Bedford seconds (March 18) and at home to Cambridge University seconds (March 25) will seal the deal for City.
